About Me:

I am a Professor in the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Oregon & the TGER Lab (Tectonic, Geohazards & Environmental Remote Sensing) director. My research focuses on the development and usage of space geodetic techniques to detect small movements of the Earth’s surface and define the risks implied. I use these techniques to study natural resources and geohazards problems such as water challenges, landscape evolution, volcanism, earthquakes, & landslides. I work at the frontiers of the fields of geodesy, active tectonics, hydrology, volcanology, geomorphology, numerical modeling, and risks assessment.
