About Me:

I’m a faculty member with a joint appointment in the Department of Geological & Environmental Sciences and the Mallinson Institute for Science Education at Western Michigan University. Currently I’m also serving as chair of the Geological & Environmental Sciences Department. My research focuses on teaching and learning in the field, and cognitive aspects of learning such as spatial thinking. I identify as the parent of a neurodiverse teenager and am keenly interested in how I can support and advocate for diverse students in my department.
