The National Cave and Karst Research Institute (NCKRI) is a congressionally-created nonprofit organization mandated to conduct, support, promote, and facilitate cave and karst research, education, management, archiving of information, and collaborations to support all of the above. It has sought and continues to support development of educational opportunities for the disabled in cave and karst environments. NCKRI’s permanent partners include the US National Park Service, State of New Mexico through the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and the City of Carlsbad, giving NCKRI access to many of their resources to meet NCKRI’s goals.
