About Me:

I am a geoscience education researcher and developer helping faculty to integrate evidence-based practices in their teaching and effectively measure the impact of these changes on the learning experiences of their students.

I recently completed a PhD in Geoscience Education at the University of Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand), entitled “Student Experience and Sense of Place on Geoscience Field Trips”. Broadly, I am interested in how people interact and form relationships with the landscapes around them. Field trips are an important example of how these interactions influence geoscience learning. My PhD research compared how students interacted with their field areas in a variety of settings and used these findings to make recommendations for field educational development.
