- About Me:
I am currently a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a part-time faculty at the NKU. My current research focusses on the use of geochronologic tools in neotectonic studies in the North American southwest, New Zealand, and the Himalaya. As a part-time faculty, I am currently also teaching 7-week accelerated online courses at NKU.
I am the first generation in my family to graduate from high school and attend college. I consistently worked hard to excel at every stage of my field. I grew up with limited economic assistance and yet still was able to secure scholarships throughout my student life to pursue my education. My constant financial struggle and challenges as a socially (caste), racially, and ethnically underserved student, also helped me to hone my skills as an educator and to develop empathy towards students with disabilities, diversified ethnic, racial, cultural, socio-economic and religious backgrounds. Also, the transition from a tiny rural town in India to the international arena helped me acquire a global perspective and skills to work with a diverse group of people. I personally knew Chris Atchison and his incredible work with IAGD. I am glad to join IAGD. I look forward to this incredible adventure.
