Recently, IAGD members Brett Gilley (Canada), Gina Ceylan (USA), and Chris Atchison (USA) attended the 34th International Geological Congress in Brisbane, Australia to present the Instructional Approaches to Access, Accommodation, and Inclusion of Students with Disabilities in the Geosciences workshop. This workshop has been developed in partnership with the International Union of Geological Sciences, Commission on Geoscience Education, Training and Technology Transfer (IUGS-COGE) and is supported by the National Science Foundation. Upon arriving in Brisbane, the three were met with Commission Chairman and IAGD member Dr. Jesús Martínez Frías (Spain). The IAGD was well represented at this international meeting. Other members in attendance included: Gary Lewis (USA), Sharon Locke (USA), Danielle Sumy (USA), and Nicholas Flemming (UK).
