3. GSA Pledges to Support Student Diversity at the Annual Meeting
The Geological Society of America (GSA) is launching a new diversity initiative this year called On To the Future (OTF). The program aims to bring 125 diverse students to the GSA Annual Meeting being held in Denver in the fall. Students in the program will have an enhanced experience with opportunities to be mentored and network. This program will be part of the 125th Celebrations of GSA which was founded in 1888 and will continue into the future.
We are looking for students who have never attended a GSA Annual meeting, who are citizens, residents or on active student visas to the US and who identify with one or more of the
underrepresented groups listed on the website (http://community.geosociety.org/otf).
GSA is also looking for departments, individuals and corporations who would like to sponsor a student (or more) to be part of the program either directly or through the GSA program.
For more information, please visit the website (http://community.geosocity.org/otf) or contact Divya Puri at GSA at dpuri@geosociety.org.
